Abstract

I consider Csaba Olay's book to be an important, missing piece of writing in several aspects. Firstly, because of the clarification of the concepts related to national identity in a narrow and wider sense, secondly, because of the underlining of implicit national identity as a regional identity, and thirdly, because it draws attention to the fact that our national identity - like our personal identity - is not a stable, unquestionable formation, but is constantly evolving in a narrative way as a result of external and internal influences.
