Abstract

The paper investigates the creative process and the act of reception by an artist. As the creative artist as a receiver of his/her own art has a preliminary understanding of his own work of art, his/her process of reception differs from that of a non-artist. Expression plays a vital role both in the process of creation and reception, therefore I study the intention of expression on the part of the artist, the receiver, and the artist as receiver, respectively. The paper claims that the receiver artist has to fight against his previous self and work.
